TO DEVELOP AND GAIN CERTAINTY
Most of the time, Architects use models to explore
ideas, develop and understand the design and to communicate the product to the
client.
TO MAINTAIN OPENNESS AND PLAYFULNESS
Sometimes however, we use models to open up, invite and
maintain exploration up to the moment of completion – and beyond.
TO PROVOKE AND SPECULATE
Through concept models we invite others to
imagine and speculate, to collaborate. The models are facilitators for conversation. The speculation is used to extend the brief.
Ambiguity unlocks us from what we know and
allows everybody to imagine and project.
TO INVITE
Through concept models we develop a spatial
response and play sequences, speculating about materiality and details. The
models invite other collaborators to contribute to the exploration. Recycled
materials, the shape of trees sourced, three dimensional clashes and call for
collaborative solutions, which further evolve the structures whilst on site.
TO LEARN AND EXPLORE
Workshops with children invite to explore
through models and equip with knowledge to contribute, make and change the site
beyond our involvement.
